LiVES lets you start editing and making video right away, without having to worry about formats, frame sizes, or framerates. LiVES will let you start creating your own tools, utilities and effects via the built in RFX builder.
Note:There are some known bugs specific to our package, we are working with the author to resolve them, meanwhile please do not report any bugs for the application when installed from here and consider building from source.

Hi,
this has been changed for the next release (0.9.9.4).

The entry now reads:
Categories=Application;AudioVideo;AudioVideoEditing;

You can edit this manually for now if you wish.

I don't know how important this is, but lintian complains about the desktop-entry (among others):
desktop-entry-invalid-category Multimedia-Video /usr/share/applications/LiVES.desktop
